Lifestyle management for lawyers

Lifestyle management expert, Sharon Battershield-Corbin from Virtutal Neighbour Limited.

A new concept that is gaining popularity in the UK is Lifestyle Management and Concierge services, originating in America some 25 years ago as a staff benefit. Growth in the US, according to the Human Resource Management Survey, has been massive: in 1999, just 4% of organisations offered it. Today this has risen to 15%. Fortune Magazine listed the 100 best companies to work for and 26 offered personal concierge services, an increase from 15 in 1998.

Improves productivity and staff loyalty

Only being here in the UK for the past 15 years, corporate companies are making use of these services as an invaluable staff benefit. It is estimated that the UK economy loses £180 billion each year as a result of staff organising their personal lives from work. The aim of providing this benefit is not only to improve productivity but also to help loyal staff manage the practical day-to-day tasks of family life. With lawyers being one of the biggest groups required to manage demanding work schedules it is expected that this service will become increasingly popular in the legal services sector.

Outsource for a better quality of life

Any individuals juggling the commitment of long working hours and the added pressures of maintaining a household are starting to use these services. With time being the most valuable commodity today, people are willing to outsource the more mundane aspects of their lives, e.g. errands and chores, for a better quality of life.

Lifestyle Management and Concierge services are available to cater to your every whim, so no matter the task, you just need to make that one important call and the job is done. Employing this type of service gives the individual the freedom and flexibility to enjoy life. The cost of these services can be provided on an hourly or fixed fee basis. Hourly charges can start from £25 per hour with fixed fees starting from £150 per month.
