Tax lawyers advise corporations, private individuals and governments on all aspects of direct and indirect taxation. They tend to specialise in corporate taxation law, sales tax or private client advice. You need to have very strong analytical skills, a calm demeanour and very good academics to get jobs in tax law. Tax lawyers work with their colleagues across most practice areas especially banking, corporate and capital markets. The large accountancy practices also hire law graduates as tax managers as there is a significant overlap between the work of tax accountants and tax lawyers.
